![]() ![]() I am real desperation I just want to setup a kinect on this nuc and get on with my project…Īny pointers will be greately appreciated… I tried to look up on how to set it up with openNI but ALL the tutorials I stumbled across have broken links that point to apple website… (!!) Nevertheless same dll error nothing changed except from the fact that kinect now no longer appears as uninstalled in the device manager list I plugged it in and clicked install a couple of times for the pending devices and it claimed that it installed “successfully” but with no success I just got another dll error saying that dll is not for this system,Īfter some googling I tried a small app called zadiq that was recomented dll to the bin directory of the app (only tried the video dll and sys files. ![]() I clicked compile and got a runtime error with missing dll. (note that windows automatically points for audio and video to the same directory) I tried with ubuntu first but got weird errors with receiving data so I gave up.Īfter installing windows 10 I plugged the kinect and pointed the device into the inf folder/ My goal is: simply set up a WINDOWS kinect on a windows 10 pro environment You can verify this visually, and also by using the Kinect Configuration Verifier in the Kinect SDK Browser.Helo, I am still struggling to simply set up my kinect to this nuc thing i bought… Next, open the Microsoft Store Camera app - you will have to physically disconnect or disable any other cameras you may have attached to computer, eg webcam - and under Setting -> Change privacy settings -> Microphone -> Allow apps to access your microphone -> enable the microphone. I share this in case anyone else encounters this:įirst check if the audio is disabled from Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound -> Recording -> Kinect Microphone. ![]() Scouring the Microsoft Kinect Development forums I found the solution, which is, bizarrely, that you have to keep the microphone on the Kinect enabled. ![]() One could see this just from the white lights on the front of the sensor turning on, then off again. After a recent Windows 10 update, to version 1803, my Kinect 2 stopped working properly: it would power off every five or seven seconds, power back up, detect users, then power down again. ![]()
